The Atlantic Flyway is the migration path that balances ecosystems throughout the entire eastern side of North America. Without it, life would cease to maintain its balance and productive ecosystems would grind to a halt.
Hosted by director Tomas Koeck and filmed with breakthrough Canon EOS technology, Flyway of Life is the culmination of combined efforts of the production team, some of the world's top biologists, and a gathering of influential environmental organizations.
The feature length documentary was filmed throughout several points along the Atlantic Flyway, focusing on different ecological relationships and a wide variety of conservation movements. Some of the filming sites range from the sub-zero regions of Manitoba to the lush, humid marshes of Florida's Everglades.
Flyway of Life premiered on April 22, 2025 in a sold out show at the 500-seat SHU Community Theatre in Fairfield, Connecticut. It was directed, produced and written by Tomas Koeck, an award-winning filmmaker, Canon USA-backed photographer and member of the esteemed Explorers Club.
I joined the production team in 2023, working as a cinematographer and Koeck's field assistant. During several expeditions up and down the continent, I filmed wildlife sequences, behind-the-scenes moments, landscape b-roll, while working closely with top researchers and biologists. As the documentaries associate producer, I assisted in field planning, trip booking, permitting processes, researching, marketing, etc.
